Once I reach my goal, do I have to keep eating a high calorie diet and working out? Do I still need to take the supplements?

Just because you’ve gained more weight does not mean that your body wants to be at that weight. Remember, if you have a fast metabolism, your body naturally wants to be thin, so you will constantly have to battle against that. If you stop eating enough calories or working out you will revert back to your previous condition. Working out for maintenance can be less demanding than working out to get stronger, but you still must train. Period. Your body and your metabolism will determine the frequency of your sessions.

Once you have attained your goal weight and body-fat, maintaining your physique is quite easy for most. It simply involves the same principles of consistent training, eating enough calories and resting. This is a highly individual topic and everyone approaches it differently. Suffice to say, by the time you reach that point, you will know exactly what you must do to maintain your physique simply because you will understand how your body responds to different training and eating schedules. If you don’t weight train or eat enough protein, of course your body will respond by going back to the way it was. You can cut out the protein powders and MRPs as long as you get your protein requirements from other foods. If you can get enough protein in your diet without them, then you don’t need them at all. They are a convenience. The vitamins, minerals, glutamine and EFA’s should be taken indefinitely. These are general health supplements.
