Default 1RM on shoulder presses and bentover rows

The program is laid out to get down to your last set of 1-2 reps on Bench press, Squats, SLDL's, bentover rows and shoulder presses. I understand alot of people do 1 rep maxes for their squats, deadlifts and bench presses and that with Anthony's program it is to build strength in the 1 rep range in order to keep getting stronger. I do not understand why shoulder presses, SLDL's, bentover rows should be taken down to the 1-2 rep range. Is this safe to do?

Could i try an 8-6. 6-4, 4-3 rep range and use 3 sets instead of 4 and do 2 isolation exercises at the end instead of 1 for each of these exercises? I just don't see many people going for a 1 rep max on these exercises like they would do with bench, squats and deadlifts and want to know Anthony's philosophy on doing this.
